Position: Senior Management Accountant
Start Date: 1 September 2023
Annual salary: £48,000 - £52,000 depending on experience.
Time Commitment: Term time + six weeks during school holidays. This position is full-time during term time.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8.30 – 5pm or 9.00 – 5.30pm
Location: 5-6 King Street Cloisters, Hammersmith W6 0GY
Pension: eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
Reports to: Finance Director

The Knowledge Schools Trust is looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the finance department to act as a financial controller for the schools within the Trust. management accountant for its secondary school, West London Free School. The role is key to the financial oversight of each school and includes oversight of the monthly management accounts cycle and assistance with the annual statutory accounts. In particular:

• Leading the team of management accountants for each school in preparing month-end accounts
• Ensuring that the monthly consolidated management accounts for the Trust are accurate and timely
• Manage the Trust’s budget software including monthly forecasting
• Manage Approval Max, the Trust’s paperless approval system
• Produce the management accounts for the Central Trust
• Produce cash flow forecasts for the Trust
• Support the CFO with audits and year end reporting, including preparation of the Accounts return.

Candidates should be a chartered accountant and/or have academy/school business manager experience.

The successful candidate will:
• Have high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
• Have the ability to use the finance and other software systems accurately
• Have the ability to prioritise their own workload effectively under their own initiative
• Have advanced excel knowledge alongside strong written and numerical skills
• Have excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Promote and safeguard the welfare of children at the School

Experience of Xero accounting system is highly desirable but training can be provided. Experience of IMP Planner (MAT budgeting software) is a distinct advantage.
